As the regulatory body for the UK engineering profession, the Engineering Council sets and maintains internationally recognised standards of professional competence and commitment. EngC CEO, Paul Bailey, will set out how Engineering Council registration enables individuals to demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to society, to the environment and to their profession. In addition, Paul will provide an update on the recent launch of a new Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs) Standard that has been developed in response to recommendations contained in Dame Judith Hackitt’s independent review of building regulations and fire safety, commissioned by the UK Government in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower Fire in 2017.
